Different Kind Of Karaoke
I’ve been a “karaokeer” as long as I can remember since my early youth in Korea.

Not too many years ago, I started seeing the different kind of karaokes forming about the city.

Behold..Thereoke…. It takes place this Saturday, May 6th at Craig Baldwin’s Other Cinema series at Artists Television Access in San Francisco, starting at 8:30pm.

“tradeMARK of the Evolution Control Committee and Otis Fodder team up to tell us all about the Theremin, that cult-classic electronic instrument with the ethereal sci-fi sound. After some curious history and expert demonstration, audience members will be invited up to try their hand on the device in time to a pop backing-track, a la karaoke. The two experimental musicians also take turns spinning the most absolutely absurd artifacts in their vast vinyl collections. AND: Believe it or not, we’re encouraging attendees to bring mobile phones for Kristin Cato’s interactive cell-phone symphony! PLUS a feast for eye and ear on the big screen, with glimpses of Spike Jones, Gene Simmons, and the Punk Rock Orchestra. Bonus: The mighty Optigan!”

So now I’ve been rock karaoke, metal karaoke, hiphop-rap karaoke, and this.. What’s next?
